Mockup Modules

Each unit will consist of modules. As a part of this senior thesis project, I developed three online mockup modules to model how I envision the final online course. The modules are displayed in the next section of this book.

The first module belongs in unit one and introduces the types of fungi found in the soil. The second module is from unit two and explores how arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi can assist farmers. The third module belongs in unit four and teaches farmers how to create their own arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal inoculum and monitor soil fungal populations on the farm using root staining and spore sieving protocols.

The modules contain multimedia content ranging from short videos, written segments, images, educational handouts, links to suggested additional resources, and optional assessments.

For these three mockup modules, I made the content visually appealing, readily digestible, and directly applicable to on-farm management. I strategically employed pictures, illustrations, and simple graphics to reinforce the module learning objectives. Visual content is powerful, and simple graphics are highly effective at communicating complex microbiological concepts.
